BANGKOK, Thailand, 17 September 2020

Thailand has had only one domestic case of COVID-19 in the span of 115 days, according to Thailand’s Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration. As such, Thailand maintains its status as a “low-risk” nation.

The total number of COVID-19 deaths in Thailand still holds at 58. This number has remained unchanged for nearly eight months.

Globally, the total number of confirmed cases is 29.7 million. The total number of confirmed Coronavirus deaths worldwide is more than 939,140.

The United States continues to rank #1 in the world with the highest number of COVID-19 cases (6.78 million). India has surpassed Brasil at #2 (5 million), Brasil now ranks #3 (4.38 million), Russia ranks #4 (1.07 million), and Peru comes in at #5 (738,020).

In contrast, Thailand ranks 128th in the world in total of COVID-19 cases.
